VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS ARTIFACT #2: PHOTOGRAPHY
|
I have been studying still photography most of my adult life. As a professional photographer for nearly a decade I used Canon equipment and the Macintosh platform and software to edit and do post-production work. Thanks to an Advanced Cinematography class at Boise State University my focus has changed from still photography to film. The 3 photo books to the left I submit as artifacts in this category because they showcase my ability to use the tools of photography: ISO, aperture and shutter speed to blend composition, lighting, colors and passion. They also show my ability to work with clients, events and weather at the same time. All the design, layout, writing and photography is mine. You can look through each collection at Blurb by clicking on them. I have thousands of professional photos that I could showcase. :-)

The artifacts scrolling above are from my business, A Chance Encounter Photography. The artifact below was an assignment in the Spring of 2014 at Boise State University during Advanced Photoshop (COMM 486). This artifact showcases my abilities to use a Canon EOS Rebel SL1 to capture multiple images and then manipulate them in Photoshop CS6. It also showcases my ability to take original photos and create a 'stacked photo.' Multiple images of the same person (my daughter Maggie) were taken without moving the camera to create one image.
The artifact below is a slide show collection of photos I took for a 'Visual Poem' assignment in COMM 486. The cameras available to me varied with what I could afford and that affects quality. Never-the-less though this is in no way exhaustive –– for I have taken thousands of professional photos over my lifetime –– this is a very very small sampling showcasing my eye when it comes to photography.
Just a few photos here from my extensive Pro Digital Photography career.
